SURPRISE, ARIZONA (March 30, 2023) - Beginning in the 2024 season, Convergence Performing Arts will go fully independent and open participation in its ensembles to any eligible individuals as defined by Winter Guard Arizona (WGAZ) and Winter Guard International (WGI) policies. With such opening, Convergence Performing Arts is able to expand its reach and provide additional learning and performing opportunities for youth and adults in Arizona.

Additionally, Convergence is excited to announce the establishment of an all new ensemble that will begin competing in the 2024 season: Convergence Indoor Winds! Convergence Indoor Winds will allow individuals to take their experience with competitive marching and move it to an indoor environment, while applying the fundamental techniques of a woodwind and brass instrument. Convergence Indoor Winds will be under the direction of Michaela (Rad) Rademacher, Director of Bands at Ottawa University Arizona (OUAZ).

“We are incredibly excited to open our doors to the many talented musicians and performers across the state as we take our ensembles fully independent. Additionally, we are excited to welcome Rad and Convergence Indoor Winds to the Convergence family beginning in the 2024 season,” said Stephen Goodman, Director of Convergence Indoor Percussion, and Karla Rahn, Director of Convergence Winterguard, in a joint address at the 2023 Convergence Friends and Family Night on March 30, 2023.
